Base stations are used to transmit and receive radio signals for telecommunications. Today, cellular connections are routed through the nearest base station and then forwarded through complex connections of different telecommunications equipment before reaching their destination. The base station consists of two main parts, the radio interface Unit (RIU) and the baseband unit (BBU).
